Lower Bergish Museum Wuelfrath
Culture history of the Bergish land
The Lower Bergish Museum was founded in 1913 and shows on an exhibition area of 1200m² the cultural history of the living and working world in the northern part of the Bergish land.
During a walkabout through the permanent exhibition one discovers early earth history up to rural living and working world. Collection objects from the 18th and 19th-century are being presented to the visitor.
Modern and historical mining methods from the regional chalk industry can also be viewed.
The pewter casting is one of the traditional crafts of the Lower Bergish region and is being represented with many collectors' items.
A special highlight is the Bergish Kaffeetafel, which is being held in the rustic fireplace room.
